Hotel St. George Lafayette, Paris

This photo is turned sideways and I don't know how to fix it. Our hotel, luckily happens to be only 5 blocks from the train station (and I booked it from home without a clue where anything was, pretty cool.) The building doesn't look very nice, but the ensuite (room with private bath) is great and comes with breakie.

IN PARIS

Sidewalk cafe right across the street from the Gare du Nord (International Train Station in the North) Our first cuppa umm umm good! It is about 2:00 pm the sun is shining, we are in Paris and life is good!

The EuroStar Train

This is the train that took us from England to France under the Channel and thru the tunnel, called the Chunnel. It was fast and smooooooth like butter. It took 3 hours to arrive in Paris. I thought it would be scary going under the water, but it wasn't.

Full English Breakfast Every Morning,

In London at the hotel breakfast room in the basement! It was great having it included in the room rate.

Big Red DoubleDecker Bus

Love those buses, nothing like them. Such a view from the top deck and a thrill. Really skilled drivers. As you can see it rained a little on the first day out, but no worries. It was good.
This is a popular little " quick shop" that Aneesa remembers, so I took it for her. We bought bottled water and couple peaches in there.

March 22, 2007 London

I took a photo of the Costco sign, but I didn't turn out, but we went to Costco to see if they had an electronic translator and just to check it out. It looks exactly the same as the ones in the US. The menu at the snack bar was almost exact, we were surprised to see the hotdog/soda special for 1.50 but in pounds, means it was $3.00 for us. We had lunch there, just like home!

The bus/tube/trains are fantastic here. We bought a day bus pass and could go anywhere for one price. We headed for The Millenium Eye ( BIG ferris wheel commenorating the turn of century and to make money), but thought it too cold although it is fully enclosed, but we decided to wait a day or two. Across the street is Big Bend Tower, and as we stopped at a street vendor there, I asked the guy to take the photo of Jim and me. You know it's actually the bell that is BIG BEN, not the clock that I always thought.

London

Some Problems Still

We are still having some problems and are testing all of the possiblilities.
This message is being typed on a French computer AND ALL OF THE KEYES ARE IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. whew!

We R Here In London

Mom infront of our hotel
Mom & I have arrived. We got to the (above) hotel in London about 6:00pm (local time). Mom had a slight headache and laid down for a minute which ended up being all night and I quickly jointed her. But, the flight over was Beautiful (with a capital B).

Today (Thursday) we had a nice breakfast, in the hotel. And then out and about. We got our tickets for the train through the Chunnel. Then, we took a vvvery long bus ride to . . . (guess where) - wrong. We went to the Costco in London (well way outside of London). It looks exactly like those in California, complete with Kirkland products. We even had lunch there, and of course had the hot dog/soda for 1.50 (only it was pounds not dollars, but still 1.50).

Tonight we are going to take it easy and hit the cobblestones again tomorrow.

This is from MOM: I love LONDON, it is so exciting being here! I really love all the old buildings and the people, it is great! Our hotel is OK, it is clean and we have our own bathroom. so no complaints. oh and a full breadfast, oh yea! Love Mom
