This is the train that took us from England to France under the Channel and thru the tunnel, called the Chunnel. It was fast and smooooooth like butter. It took 3 hours to arrive in Paris. I thought it would be scary going under the water, but it wasn't.

Jim wouldn't let me take a photo of the heavily armed soldiers walking around in groups of three inside the train station. I told him I would ask permission, but he said no, we might get arrested!
I can't decide if it was comforting to have them on guard OR scary! That is the dilemma, isn't it? WISH I COULD'VE TAKEN IT!

If you were in Gard du Nord station (I think that's how you spell it.), then we saw those soldiers too. So, it's not just an Iraqi thing, they've had armed militia there since at least 2000. It WAS pretty creepy though, I agree!
Maddie says, "I wish we could go on the train with you."
