March 22, 2007 London

I took a photo of the Costco sign, but I didn't turn out, but we went to Costco to see if they had an electronic translator and just to check it out. It looks exactly the same as the ones in the US. The menu at the snack bar was almost exact, we were surprised to see the hotdog/soda special for 1.50 but in pounds, means it was $3.00 for us. We had lunch there, just like home!

The bus/tube/trains are fantastic here. We bought a day bus pass and could go anywhere for one price. We headed for The Millenium Eye ( BIG ferris wheel commenorating the turn of century and to make money), but thought it too cold although it is fully enclosed, but we decided to wait a day or two. Across the street is Big Bend Tower, and as we stopped at a street vendor there, I asked the guy to take the photo of Jim and me. You know it's actually the bell that is BIG BEN, not the clock that I always thought.

Thank you so much for the update! I'm glad you were able to fix/bypass whatever "security" problem you had earlier. We LOVE seeing your pictures and reading about what you are doing!! : )
